6 Weeks at Machines Room and special offer

What’s it all about?
You know that moment when you have an idea for a business, but you’re not sure it’ll work, well, this 6-week of evening workshops is for you. It does a range of things. It gets you to explore new possible ideas of what you might make a business from, based on what you do or make.

What’s the special offer?

Our special offer is a draw for one free place on the course. In the weeks leading up to the start of the class starting 2 March, anyone can propose a friend who they think needs it. They will all be entered into a hat, and one free place will be drawn on 24 March, and the free place announced then.

About 6 Weeks to Pop Up:
This 6 evening class is one for makers, creatives and designers who have a new idea, or want to work one out. It will help you to understand some of the fundamentals about getting a new idea out there, and equip you with some core startup tools and methods. Once you have these within your grasp, you can use them again and again.

Book a place
It helps you to identify exactly who might want that idea, and understand how it might work as a business. It then gets you to try out different options, and test them with real people. Moving from project to business is challenging, so this breaks it down into practical steps. By the end you have a clear understanding and a plan for your new business.

Each business idea will go through a programme of making prototypes and testing. The idea will become stronger and bounced off real people! The end of the course will be a market where we’ll invite friends and Hackney residents to come and see what they are thinking about putting into the market, and to show them what they think. We’ll post details of where that is exactly here.

Machines Room is a brilliant east London maker space open to the public and businesses to come and fabricate their ideas. They have a full range of machines for processes such as laser & vinyl cutting, 3d printing to CNC. At their centre is a 2000 sq ft space that hosts events and exhibitions (available for hire). During the day, the area functions as an open to all co-making and co-working space.  Machines Room is located towards the end of Vyner Street in a warehouse building on the left hand side coming from Cambridge Heath.
